Jesse

Today I am thankful for my step-son Jesse. Yesterday I had a eye doctor appointment because I've been having trouble with my right eye (seeing spots and a flickering light). I was kinda worried about driving myself to the appointment because I wasn't sure if I'd be able to drive home if they had to dilate my eyes. Ricky was in the middle of painting the house (sweaty and covered in paint) so we had decided that if I needed a ride he'd come pick me up and go back for the car. Jesse came home as I was about to leave and Ricky asked him if he'd drive me, he immediately said sure! My appointment was for 5 pm, we were there by 4:45. I told Jesse I should be done around 5:15ish. He said ok he'd be back by then. My mom called and asked if I'd pick Alyssa up from her house when my appointment was over (they had gone strawberry picking). I said that should be fine (my eye doctor is close to their house). Jesse was waiting outside at 5:15 but the doctor had dilated my eyes and I had to wait another 20 mins and then she'd do some more tests. I went out and told Jesse and he said that was ok and he'd be back. He was waiting for me when my appointment was over. I told him we had to pick up Alyssa at my mom's. He laughed and said he'd just been down there at Ricky's dad's (Ricky's parents and my parents live DIRECTLY across the street from each other). We picked up Alyssa, he dropped me off at home and then went to the grocery store to pick up some things for dinner. He paid for the groceries with his own money (we gave him money but he refused to take it). He went out with his friends right after he dropped off the groceries. He didn't even eat the dinner he'd picked up! AND he put gas in the car! ALL of this with not ONE complaint or impatience. Thank you, Jesse!

P.S. The doctor is not sure what's wrong with my eye. She has made an appointment for me with a specialist on July 12.

maybe the wonky monitor had something to do with your eye! Hopefully it all gets better soon! - As for Jesse, man - I hope my kid is nice like that one day :)

Go Jesse!! That is awesome and not found much these days! You guys must have done something right to have such a great kid.

On the eye thing--that is so weird because Chuck has been having the same thing!! They said it was an enlarged blind spot in his right eye and sent him for an MRI. The MRI came back fine so now he is going to a Opthamologist Neurologist. Keep us posted on your situation.
