Today I am thankful for my step-son Jesse. Yesterday I had a eye doctor appointment because I've been having trouble with my right eye (seeing spots and a flickering light). I was kinda worried about driving myself to the appointment because I wasn't sure if I'd be able to drive home if they had to dilate my eyes. Ricky was in the middle of painting the house (sweaty and covered in paint) so we had decided that if I needed a ride he'd come pick me up and go back for the car. Jesse came home as I was about to leave and Ricky asked him if he'd drive me, he immediately said sure! My appointment was for 5 pm, we were there by 4:45. I told Jesse I should be done around 5:15ish. He said ok he'd be back by then. My mom called and asked if I'd pick Alyssa up from her house when my appointment was over (they had gone strawberry picking). I said that should be fine (my eye doctor is close to their house). Jesse was waiting outside at 5:15 but the doctor had dilated my eyes and I had to wait another 20 mins and then she'd do some more tests. I went out and told Jesse and he said that was ok and he'd be back. He was waiting for me when my appointment was over. I told him we had to pick up Alyssa at my mom's. He laughed and said he'd just been down there at Ricky's dad's (Ricky's parents and my parents live DIRECTLY across the street from each other). We picked up Alyssa, he dropped me off at home and then went to the grocery store to pick up some things for dinner. He paid for the groceries with his own money (we gave him money but he refused to take it). He went out with his friends right after he dropped off the groceries. He didn't even eat the dinner he'd picked up! AND he put gas in the car! ALL of this with not ONE complaint or impatience. Thank you, Jesse!
P.S. The doctor is not sure what's wrong with my eye. She has made an appointment for me with a specialist on July 12.

Elvis and Liquroice Allsorts
Here's a thankful blog to counter act the depressing one I left on my other blog!
I am thankful for Elvis Presley. I have been listening to, Elvis Presley - The Top Ten Hits, for the last couple of days. Not sure why all of a sudden I'm addicted to this CD, but for some reason it makes me feel better! So I'm going to keep listening to it until I drive everyone at work batty and they yell at me to change the CD!
I am also thankful for Liquorice Allsorts. I've eaten two bags of them in a week and a half. I know to Zig this isn't alot but for me it is! My grandfather used to always have them by his chair. My sister and I would only eat the candy part of them because we didn't like the black liquorice. But now I like them ALL! Even the ones without the candy parts! I am craving them right now but I ate all the ones I had here yesterday.
I'm kinda wondering if I'm getting old.

Ricky
Today and yesterday I am thankful for Ricky. There are many, many reasons but there is one in particular right now. My great-aunt came in from Vancouver this week. Last night she and my parents came over for dinner. I was stressing a little (okay maybe alot) about not having everything ready for her. I had even discussed bringing the dinner to my mom's to eat. We had painted Alyssa's room on the weekend and her stuff was all through the house. Monday night I came home and Ricky had the whole house spotless. Everything back where it belongs. A note here though... he was so tired from the weekend and from cleaning that he couldn't make it to his refit appointment Monday night. How do you get mad at someone for doing too much work? Then on Tuesday when I came home he had picked everything up and made dinner for my great-aunt. He is really good at being a host. I'm not really good at the whole "Susie homemaker" thing. So I'm really thankful that he cares enough about my family and me to go through all the trouble to do these kind of things on a continuous basis. I love you Ricky.
Another thing I'm thankful for is that Jesse and Alyssa were happy to stay home Tuesday night and have dinner with all of us with no complaints. And for Jesse driving Alyssa to her belly dancing class for Ricky and I on Monday. I was supposed to go to the Refit centre with Ricky on Monday night and wouldn't have been able to drive Alyssa. Jesse agreed to do it and was even willing to do it after we didn't go to the Refit Centre. They're both great kids! I love you both!

Friends
This one sort of connects with my first thankful blog. I am thankful for surprise phone calls from friends. I received one yesterday from one of my girlfriends (we've been friends since elementary school and we lived together before I moved in with Ricky). She had a baby boy yesterday (he was a little early)! It was totally out of the blue, I had to run for the phone through an obstacle course (we were painting Alyssa's bedroom yesterday, so her stuff was all over the house), search down the cordless phone, so I was out of breath and a little peeved because I couldn't find the phone and then it was my girlfriend with happy news! Today I received another phone call at work from a man I used to work with at my old job. He was just letting me know he hadn't forgotten about me and that he'll be busy for the next few weeks but that he wants to go out for lunch to catch up. We only talked for a couple of minutes but he always brings a smile to my face and makes me feel good just by being himself. So I guess I'm just thankful for all my friends and knowing that they're always there for me and thinking about me even though we don't talk everyday or even every week, month.

I'm thankful for Ali
I am thankful for Ali being my friend. (It is her birthday today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALI!) She always knows the right things to say, and how to make me laugh so hard that I'm crying! Which is definitely a good thing. I am not a very outgoing crazy person on my own but with the help of Ali she is pulling me out of my shell. She knows how to have FUN and is never scared or worried about what other people think. Life is too short to worry about unnecessary things, so you should enjoy every minute without worry. Thank You Ali for your friendship, smiles, laughter and consistent crazyness. All the beautiful things that everyone needs in their lives.
